Brimstone-2 high-precision British missiles have been sent to Ukraine. It is reported by The Telegraph, citing pictures of the cargo. The upgraded missiles are distinguished by the presence of laser guidance and a twice increased launch range.
It is not known how many rockets London sent to Kyiv. The cost of one projectile is estimated at £ 175 thousand. The flight range after launching from an aircraft is 60 km, when launched from ground forms – 12 km. About six months ago, the UK handed over Brimstone-1 missiles to Ukraine. Such missiles are usually launched from the air, but the Ukrainian military uses modified trucks to do so.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited Ukraine last week. During the visit, he promised to transfer air defense assets to Kyiv, including 125 anti-aircraft guns, and to take part in the restoration of destroyed infrastructure. British aid in 2022 has already exceeded £3bn.
